In September 2007 the English Riviera received international recognition for its rich geological, historical and cultural heritage, it doing so it become one of just 57 areas around the world to be endorsed by UNESCO and welcomed into both the European and Global Geopark Networks.
UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development.
Towards the end of last year we were contacted by Melanie Border of the English Riviera’s UNESCO Global Geopark in regard to designing 6 new costal walk interpretation boards. We have worked with Mel and the UNESCO Geopark before and the design process was a smooth one. It was just over a week from Mel’s first contact to the artwork being sent off for production.
A couple of the boards were recently spotted near Meadfoot Beach Cafe and Ilsham Marine Drive in Torquay and we are pleased to share photos of them with you.
