Designing Marketing Assets for Print

When designing marketing assets for print, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. Print can be expensive and it’s essential your messaging is impactful and on-brand. Some things to keep in mind when designing for print:

  • Your brand identity and style guide – make sure your print assets are on-brand and consistent with your other communications.
  • The size of the asset – think about how big or small your asset needs to be. You need to make sure your design is high resolution, so it doesn’t pixelate when printed, and set up bleeds and margins correctly so your design prints correctly on the page.
  • The paper stock – choose a high-quality paper stock that represents your brand well.
  • The printing process – make sure you understand the different printing processes and choose the one that’s right for your project. You need to use CMYK colour mode rather than RGB (most printers use CMYK).

Stationery Marketing Assets

Your stationery is one of the first things people will see when they encounter your brand. Stick to the essentials like your logo, company name, address, phone number and email address, and choose a superior quality paper stock – this will make a big difference to how professional and high-end your stationery looks. If you’re using a standard layout for all your stationery (letterhead, business cards, envelopes), make sure everything is aligned correctly and looks clean and uncluttered.

Signage

Signage and posters are a great way to get your brand out there, especially if you have a physical space like a shop or office. They can be used to promote special offers, events or product launches, and should be designed to be eye-catching and attention-grabbing. If you have a lot of text, make sure it’s easy to read from a distance. And if you’re using images, make sure they’re high resolution marketing assets so they don’t pixelate when printed or displayed on a big electronic screen.

Outdoor Advertising

Outdoor advertising is a great way to reach a large local audience with your message. Whether you need a billboard, signage for bus shelters, or on various modes of transportation, we can help you with the design, production and placement of your ad.

Wayfinding

If you have a large office or commercial space, or if you are like many of our customers with outdoor or education spaces, wayfinding signage is important to help people find their way around. This type of signage should be designed to be clear and easy to understand, using simple icons and colours that are easy to see from a distance. The font you use for your wayfinding signage needs to be legible from a distance too.

Educational panels

Educational panels communicate information to people in a public space. They explain the history of a building or area, provide directions, or give information about the local environment. When designing educational panels, it’s important to use clear and concise language, appropriate to the age of the visitors and the activities that will enrich their visit to your attraction.

Exhibition stands

If you’re exhibiting at a trade show or event, your exhibition stand is an extension of your brand and is your chance to make a good impression on potential customers. It’s important that your space that is inviting and uncluttered, with branded elements like banners and signage. Your stand should also be functional, with plenty of space for people to move around easily and interact with your staff.

Vehicle wraps and livery

If you have a company car, van or truck, why not use it as a moving billboard and wrap it in your brand colours and logo? Vehicle wraps get you brand visibility locally, and they’re usually much cheaper than traditional advertising like billboards or TV ads. Just make sure you use high quality images and graphics that are easy to see from a distance, and that your contact details are clear and legible.
