The Thatched Tavern is a traditional country pub in the heart of Devon, and we were delighted to be able to supply all the fixtures, fittings and furniture while completely managing their recent pub refurbishment. The aim was to create a relaxed customer atmosphere which would make visitors feel as though they had been transported into the ultimate Devon country pub experience.
Pub furnishings, fixtures and fittings that deliver
We helped them achieve this by supplying high quality items such as solid hardwood tables, chairs with comfortable upholstery and eye-catching one-of-a-kind photography and artwork. This has ensured that customers can enjoy themselves from start to finish of their visit and leave rave reviews from their experience at The Thatched Tavern.
A commercial kitchen fit for purpose
We collaborated with Stephen Naylor, owner of The Thatched Tavern to bring his vision for the pub and garden to reality, as well as executing the commercial kitchen renovations as directed by Head Chef Liam Murray. With all-new equipment from GS Group, Liam was ready to embrace locally sourced fresh produce of unquestionable quality from local Devon farmers.
The Head Chef had complete control over the kitchen’s design. Liam, the Head Chef, has prior experience with Charvet, one of the most recognised names in culinary equipment. Choosing a quality kitchen product is further testament to Stephen, our client’s, commitment to quality.

Meaningful relationships, built to last
The Thatched Tavern are proud of their long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with local suppliers. From the bartenders to the chefs to the owners, everyone in the pub works together and listens carefully to suppliers. They collaborate to constantly improve and perfect their menus, providing the best Devon country pub experience. They are constantly in touch with their suppliers to understand, learn, and improve their offer to customers and visitors. If the pub does well, the suppliers benefit as well – and that’s great for Devon.
Collaboration with local suppliers
The Thatched Tavern wants to learn and develop alongside our suppliers, gaining a better understanding of what makes them distinct to Devon so that we may communicate that value to our consumers in the form of lovely locally sourced food and drink offers.
Choosing lighting for a bar refurbishment
Lighting is a crucial aspect of any bar refurbishment project. It can be used to create a mood, direct attention and highlight features, while also creating a sense of space, drama and intimacy.
To ensure that you get the most from your new bar layout, it’s important to consider how lighting will work with other key elements such as colour schemes and furniture placement. Your interior designer will consider how much natural light is coming into your bar and make recommendations that complement the style and use of each bar area.
The perfect pub customer experience
Customers expect a very good atmosphere, comfortable and elegant furnishings, good lighting and beautiful washrooms and toilets. It is important to them, but it also needs to be singular and unique in their experience – each pub is unique, and many are already characterful.
